Today, OpenTech Alliance—a PropTech pioneer in the self-storage sector—revealed it has executed a Letter of Intent to purchase SAM Systems B.V., a Dutch access-technology firm that created an NFC latch lock. The transaction is anticipated to finalize during the early part of Q4 this year.
This deal aligns with OpenTech’s approach of sourcing established technologies globally and offering them to self-storage operators in various markets. Buying SAM Systems would bolster the firm’s footprint in Europe and introduce a keyless-entry solution costing less than $100 per lock to its IoE platform. The lock is expected to hit the market in Q1 2027.
