MugatuAI states that Signal performs local checks on prompts, clipboard content, and file uploads prior to data being transmitted to external AI platforms.

The private beta of Signal, a browser-based utility aimed at assisting companies in safeguarding confidential data during employee interactions with public AI platforms, has been unveiled by MugatuAI.

This launch tackles a growing issue for enterprises as browser-embedded AI tools become standard for everyday writing, research, analytical work, and coding. The firm noted that login credentials, client records, proprietary code, infrastructure specs, and other corporate data may inadvertently appear in prompts or be uploaded via a web browser during standard workflows.

MugatuAI says Signal performs local inspection of typed text, copied material, and file attachments on the device itself before they reach the browser. The solution is engineered to detect and redact pertinent content prior to forwarding it to an external AI provider, all while keeping the user’s original query intact.

“No one logs on in the morning planning to leak company secrets or personal data, but in the flow of getting work done with modern AI assistants, slips happen in seconds,” stated Christopher Carter, Founder and CEO of MugatuAI.

Signal is currently undergoing evaluation through a private-beta initiative, with MugatuAI mentioning that it handles access requests manually. The product is described by the company as a browser-level safeguard designed for organizations seeking oversight on how sensitive information is managed when staff use public AI platforms.
