Carexroads bets on trust over sales pitches with AI concierge and first 50 case manager slots

Free for care professionals. Contact details stay private. Providers can’t buy access.

In an industry where case managers are often buried under unsolicited sales calls and endless agency vetting, a new platform is trying a different approach. Carexroads, a care-navigation service linking families, care professionals, and senior care providers, has announced it will open founding spots for the first 50 case managers, discharge planners, social workers, and care coordinators in each region on its professional network. This rollout, timed just ahead of National Case Management Week (October 11–17), begins in Greater Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Sacramento and the Bay Area.

The premise is straightforward: professionals submit a single care need—specifying only the service, location, timing, and payer, never patient details—and receive vetted local options back without having to contact multiple agencies. Every professional on the network also meets Cora, Carexroads’ new AI care concierge. Cora pulls verified local options from the platform, and a human on the Carexroads Care Team reviews every answer before it reaches the case manager. The target is to deliver a response within one business day.

“Care coordinators are caught in the middle,” said Charise “CJ” Felton, co-founder of Carexroads. “They need trustworthy options for patients and families, and they need a way to discover providers without opening themselves up to constant sales calls, emails and marketing pressure. A case manager should not have to publish their email address and invite hundreds of unsolicited pitches simply to connect to local resources.”

Built around permission, not pay-to-play

The platform is designed to flip the usual dynamic. Professionals join free and retain control over who contacts them:

  • Contact details stay hidden. Professionals choose who can message them inside Carexroads, and can change it any time.
  • Providers can’t buy access. Promotional messages are off on every plan.
  • Patient details are blocked. Names, dates of birth, room numbers and other identifying details are checked for and blocked before anything posts.
  • Verified means checked. Verified providers have passed Carexroads checks covering NPI, insurance, reputation review, and open investigations or citations.

“Access should be earned by trust, not bought by the highest bidder,” Felton said. “Verification matters, reviews matter, reputation matters, responsiveness matters. Our job is not to decide who gets the patient. Our job is to create a trusted environment where the right providers can be discovered and where families and professionals can make informed decisions.”

What the first 50 get

Those who join early will receive a “First 50” badge on their profile, priority access when the network goes live in their area, a guaranteed seat in their region’s professional Care Circle, and a direct say in what Carexroads builds next. They can also complete the free Carexroads Care Coordination Academy—five short courses and twenty modules covering provider discovery, privacy and ethical coordination—to earn the Academy Certified credential.

“When someone reaches a crossroads in care, they should know where to go next,” Felton said. “That’s why our promise is: you have arrived.”

Why it matters: For case managers drowning in administrative overhead and unwanted sales pitches, Carexroads offers a rare model that puts professional control ahead of provider revenue. If the platform’s AI-assisted vetting and privacy-first approach gains traction, it could shift how hard-to-place cases find the right care—without sacrificing trust for speed.
