Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) and Enara Health have unveiled a new collaboration aimed at expanding access to physician-directed obesity medicine for residents of Rochester, Minnesota. The initiative, dubbed Enara at Olmsted Medical Center, provides a virtual, personalized care approach that supplements OMC’s WHOLEyou program, thereby broadening the range of obesity services available across southeastern Minnesota.
The Shared Medical Appointment model employed by WHOLEyou — involving structured group sessions that blend clinical knowledge, dietary advice, and group support — underscores OMC’s enduring dedication to addressing obesity as a chronic condition. This new alliance furthers that dedication by introducing a virtual, one-on-one option for individuals who prefer personalized attention or encounter obstacles to attending in person.
Enara Health has established a track record of excellent results in outpatient obesity medicine across its nationwide network of partners, using a virtual, individually focused clinical model. Taken together, WHOLEyou and Enara at Olmsted Medical Center create a full spectrum of care: patients can select between the two programs based on personal preference and clinical suitability, all under OMC’s umbrella. Clinicians at any of OMC’s 25 locations can directly refer patients to the Enara program.
From the outset, every participant in the program is assigned a dedicated team — comprising obesity medicine physicians, exercise physiologists, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists — all collaborating on a single unified care plan. The Enara app ensures this team remains accessible between appointments. Care plans are developed with lifestyle interventions as the foundation, with medication added when clinically indicated.
The program is covered by most major insurance plans accepted at OMC — such as UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Medica, Aetna, and Medicare — allowing many patients to receive this specialized treatment as part of their insurance benefits.
