FIOR appoints James Patrick as Chief Technology Officer

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The British technology firm FIOR Group, which develops the identity and enforcement layer for artificial intelligence, has announced that James Patrick, CITP MBCS, has been named its Chief Technology Officer.

James arrives at FIOR from Oracle in the UK, where his most recent position was Chief Field Architect for Defence and National Security. In that role, he oversaw complex technology initiatives across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, assisting public-sector, defence, and national-security entities in designing and deploying secure, resilient technology architectures.

Prior to his time at Oracle, James served as a Principal Solutions Architect at Zaizi, following an earlier career in government. He holds Chartered IT Professional status, is a member of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and sits on the techUK National Security Committee.

In his new role as Chief Technology Officer, James will spearhead FIOR’s technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering execution. A key priority will be rolling out FIOR’s technology across cloud, on-premises, edge, and disconnected environments, especially in sensitive and regulated settings where organisations cannot simply swap out existing infrastructure as new AI capabilities emerge.

FIOR provides the security infrastructure necessary as AI moves beyond generating information to taking action. Its AI Gateway offers organisations a unified layer to identify and authenticate AI agents, manage their access to systems and data, enforce policies at the point of action, and maintain a reliable audit trail.

The company’s technology is built to preserve meaningful human authority while allowing organisations to deploy increasingly capable AI agents safely and at scale.

David Williams, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FIOR Group, commented:

“James combines exceptional technical ability with a deep understanding of the environments in which security really matters. He has spent his career solving difficult architectural problems for government, defence and national-security customers, and he understands that new technology must work with the infrastructure organisations already have.

“AI agents are writing code, operating infrastructure, accessing sensitive information and making decisions at machine speed. Organisations therefore need more than monitoring: they need a dependable way to establish which agents they can trust, control what those agents are permitted to do and intervene when necessary.

“James joins FIOR at an important point in our development, with our technology already being deployed with international partners. His appointment considerably strengthens our ability to turn our intellectual property and product vision into secure, scalable technology that can be adopted by enterprises and governments around the world.”

James Patrick, Chief Technology Officer of FIOR Group, stated:

“AI is moving from answering questions to taking actions. Agents can now write code, operate infrastructure, call tools, access data and make decisions at machine speed. That creates enormous opportunities, but it also changes the nature of the security problem.

“FIOR is addressing that problem at the right architectural level. Its technology is designed to provide identity, authentication and enforceable control over AI agents wherever they operate—not only in the public cloud, but also on premises, at the edge and in disconnected environments.

“Britain has made clear its ambition to lead in AI security and assurance, particularly Sovereign AI. I am delighted to be joining a British company with world beating technology, an expansive product roadmap, a strong patent moat and the potential to support that ambition internationally. My job is to help FIOR’s customers deploy wherever security, resilience and continued human authority are essential.”

James’s appointment follows a period of commercial and technological progress for FIOR, including work with partners such as Multiverse Computing and Indus Net Technologies. He will work closely with FIOR’s executive team, engineers, customers and strategic partners to advance the company’s product roadmap and support its international growth.
