An updated legal landscape
TRESA replaced and renamed the former Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002, introducing a fresh Code of Ethics via Ontario Regulation 365/22, with its second phase effective December 1, 2023. These changes affect how registrants must handle representation, disclose material facts, manage conflicts of interest, and interact with both clients and self-represented parties. For candidates preparing to take the licensing exam, the practical outcome is that study materials based on the earlier framework may no longer match the rules currently in effect.
According to the company, ExamPass creates its practice questions and study content from publicly available legal sources—including TRESA and its regulations, the Code of Ethics, and other Ontario statutes relevant to real estate transactions—rather than from any course provider’s materials. The company states this approach is meant to keep its content consistent with the law as it currently stands.

The same law, across every provider
To become licensed, a candidate must complete RECO’s required pre-registration education through one of four approved providers—Humber Polytechnic, Algonquin College, Fleming College, or Career College Group—and then take standardized exams administered by a centralized testing provider, Meazure Learning. RECO maintains a common, compliance-based curriculum across all four providers, so the legal material candidates need to master is identical regardless of which college they choose. Because that material is rooted in TRESA and its regulations, a study aid written from the underlying legislation is relevant to every candidate, no matter which provider delivered their courses.
How the platform applies it
ExamPass covers Courses 1 through 4 and the program’s two simulation sessions. Every practice question includes a plain-language explanation for each answer option—both correct and incorrect—so that reviewing a question reinforces the rule behind the answer. When an option is wrong, the explanation identifies the misconception involved, which the company says helps candidates correct misunderstandings rather than simply memorize outcomes.
The platform also offers timed mock exams that recreate elements of the proctored testing environment, including the basic on-screen calculator and note tools candidates encounter on exam day, as well as an AI study tutor that can explain why a given answer is correct or incorrect and restate a difficult concept in plain language. Together, the company states, these features are intended to connect the legislation to how it is actually tested: through realistic, applied questions rather than recall of isolated definitions.

As Ontario’s regulatory framework continues to settle into practice, the company states that it reviews its material against current sources so that candidates study the rules in force at the time they take the exam.
