Through SBIR Phase III efforts, AlphaBravo is broadening its Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform to simplify how combat system software reaches the Fleet.
FREDERICK, MD, UNITED STATES, July 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AlphaBravo, a veteran-owned small business focused on defense platform engineering and DevSecOps, has announced it received a task order under its Navy Basic Ordering Agreement. This order involves embedding Tools Platform as a Service (TPaaS) capabilities into Pioneer, the organization’s Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform. The initiative aims to streamline the deployment of Integrated Combat System (ICS) software to the Fleet.
This task order continues AlphaBravo’s collaboration with Naval Surface Warfare Center under a SBIR Phase III contract, expanding upon achievements from the company’s SBIR Phase II award with Navy PEO Integrated Warfare Systems.
Currently, deploying and maintaining combat system software throughout the Fleet demands considerable manual engineering. Container images need hardening and verification. Baselines must remain uniform across ships and shore locations. Updates have to reach platforms that stay disconnected for long stretches. Pioneer tackles these issues through automated lifecycle management at fleet scale, built-in compliance evidence, and delivery workflows designed for air-gapped and denied settings.
As part of this task order, AlphaBravo will directly incorporate TPaaS capabilities into Pioneer, offering Navy program teams a unified platform for constructing, hardening, shipping, and running containerized combat system software from the development environment all the way to the ship.
“Sailors and program offices should not have to piece together a dozen tools to deliver software to the Fleet,” stated Chad Serino, CEO and Founder of AlphaBravo. “This integration places the entire pipeline in one location. Build it, harden it, deliver it, run it, wherever the mission takes you. That is what simplified deployment truly means.”
This work aligns with the Navy’s broader drive toward quicker, more dependable software delivery for integrated combat systems, and extends a capability already operational within an active Department of Defense weapon system program of record.
