STERLING, Va., September 14, 2026 — AEC Software, Inc., the maker of FastTrack Schedule, has announced the general availability of FastTrack Schedule 2026, a significant new release of its project management and scheduling tool for Windows and Mac. This version represents the most extensive update in recent years, combining a fully modernized 64-bit architecture across both operating systems with capabilities shaped by ongoing customer input.
FastTrack Schedule 2026 operates as a 64-bit Universal binary on macOS, running natively on both Intel and Apple silicon from M1 through M5, and is compatible with macOS 14 Sonoma through macOS 26 Tahoe, with readiness for the upcoming macOS 27 Golden Gate. On the Windows side, it is a native 64-bit application supporting Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows 11 on ARM64. Project files remain fully cross-platform, allowing seamless transitions between Mac and Windows without any conversion steps.
A top-requested feature is Multi-Level Undo, enabling users to reverse numerous recent actions instead of just the last one. The update also includes Filter by Task Predecessors and Successors, which quickly isolates a task’s entire dependency chain—essential for evaluating how changes impact downstream activities in extensive schedules. Up to 10 baselines facilitate progress monitoring and hypothetical scenario analysis against multiple stored plan versions.
For collaborative teams, FastTrack Schedule 2026 introduces Multi-User Licensing with cloud-managed floating and assigned seats, managed via a new online license portal. This portal aims to ease deployment and seat oversight for organizations using the software across various departments, doing away with manual license management in favor of centralized control.
The release also boosts interoperability and usability. Microsoft Project files from versions 2019 through 2024 can be imported directly, eliminating the need for a Java installation—a longstanding requirement that has been removed. Visual upgrades include a redesigned Gantt chart, full Dark Mode support, additional color themes, HD color and High DPI compatibility, an improved Critical Path display, a non-working-time indicator on bars, and AutoFit+ for automatic row and column adjustments. One-click reporting generates formatted project reports and PDF outputs without a separate export step. On macOS, iCloud document management is now supported, complete with revision history and Finder Tags integration.
