For parents helping children prepare for the 11+ and SATs, the most frustrating moment is often when a child gets an answer wrong and the parent cannot explain why. A new free website from Richmond Tutoring Company Ltd aims to close that gap by showing the full working behind every single question.
The Copybook launches with 2,120 practice questions, 45 SATs papers and 14 grammar school area guides, free with no sign-up required.
“Most practice sites tell a child whether an answer is right. The hard part for a parent is explaining why, so every question on The Copybook comes with the working, and it is free.”— Anand Meena, Co-founder, The Copybook
TWICKENHAM, UNITED KINGDOM, October 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The launch comes at a pivotal moment for families with children in Year 6. 11+ results are arriving across England this month, and the national deadline for secondary school applications falls on 31 October. The Copybook is designed specifically for the parent sitting alongside the child, offering a step-by-step breakdown of how each answer is reached rather than simply a tick or a cross.

The site’s 11+ area guides cover 14 grammar school regions: Bexley, Birmingham, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Gloucestershire, Kent, Lincolnshire, Medway, Slough, Southend, Sutton, Trafford, Warwickshire and Wirral. Each guide is compiled directly from the councils’ and schools’ published admissions policies, with every source listed alongside the date it was verified. The Essex guide, for instance, details how all eleven of the county’s grammar schools allocate places and reveals the actual scores that secured a spot last year.
The platform’s full offering includes:
- 11+ practice in maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, complete with timed mock papers and printable versions.
- KS2 SATs past papers spanning 2016 to 2026, including mark schemes and the threshold marks required for the expected standard each year.
- Times tables from 2 to 12, a printable times table square, and practice for the Year 4 multiplication tables check at its real pace of six seconds per question.
- Spelling: the national curriculum word lists for Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6, with a spelling test that reads each word aloud.
Privacy is a central feature. There is no account creation, no email address required, and the site sets no cookies. Nothing about the child is stored; parents who wish to track progress can do so locally, with the record kept on their own device.
Additional area guides and question types are scheduled to be added throughout the autumn.

Why it matters: With grammar school applications and SATs looming, parents are often the first line of support at home, yet many lack the confidence to explain complex answers. By making worked solutions and verified admissions data freely accessible, The Copybook removes a financial and knowledge barrier that can otherwise leave families navigating the system alone.
