TCB Drones pairs pilot training with business coaching in multi-state push

The drone industry is full of people who can fly, but far fewer who can turn that skill into a sustainable company. TCB Drones is betting that pairing technical training with business development is the missing link, and the Texas-based company is laying out a multi-state blueprint to prove it.

Steffanie Rivers outlines plans for drone business development, networking events and a Savannah pilot market to guide future expansion.

TCB Drones has announced an expansion strategy built around an integrated approach that ties together drone education, entrepreneurship support, professional networking, and future market development.

At the center of the plan are three pillars: the Next Level Drone Accelerator Program, the Next Level Drones & Dollars Networking Event, and a proposed Market Licensing Program. The initiatives are designed to help both aspiring and established drone professionals convert their technical expertise into viable business ventures.

Steffanie Rivers, an FAA-certified drone pilot and entrepreneur, founded TCB Drones, which has built its reputation on drone education and FAA Part 107 test preparation. Now, the company is looking beyond the classroom.

“Training someone to become certified is important, but certification alone does not build a business,” Rivers said. “Our next phase is about helping people understand the relationships, business development, positioning and opportunities that can help them turn drone knowledge into something sustainable.”

NEXT LEVEL DRONE ACCELERATOR PROGRAM

The accelerator program is currently in development and aims to help drone entrepreneurs—whether they are just starting out or already operating—grow their businesses around their existing skills.

The curriculum is expected to cover business positioning, revenue development, sales tactics, relationship building, strategic partnerships, marketing, professional communication, commercial drone opportunities, and business systems.

This initiative is meant to fill the gap between technical drone training and the practical realities of running a business, giving participants the tools to position their services, cultivate relationships, and get ready for commercial work.

NEXT LEVEL DRONES & DOLLARS NETWORKING EVENT

The Next Level Drones & Dollars Networking Event is being organized as an in-person gathering for drone professionals, aspiring pilots, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

Those who attend will have the chance to build connections, talk about commercial drone applications, explore potential collaborations, and get a first look at what TCB Drones has planned next.

The event is also intended to showcase the company’s broader vision of weaving together education, entrepreneurship, and business growth.

FOUR AREAS OF GROWTH

TCB Drones is structuring its Next Level strategy around four interconnected pillars:

• Education — Drone training and FAA Part 107 preparation.

• Acceleration — Entrepreneurship and business-development support through the Next Level Drone Accelerator Program.

• Connection — Networking and relationship development through Next Level Drones & Dollars.

• Expansion — Development of a proposed structure for independently operated TCB Drones markets.

Collectively, these four areas are designed to create a more complete pathway for individuals looking to apply their drone skills in a business setting.

SAVANNAH IDENTIFIED AS PILOT EXPANSION MARKET

TCB Drones has selected Savannah, Georgia, as its first pilot expansion market. This initial move will allow the company to test and fine-tune its market-launch process before considering additional territories.

The company has identified 10 priority states for future outreach and market-development conversations: Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

It is important to note that these states are being considered as potential expansion markets. Being on the list does not guarantee that a location will open or that a territory will become available.

Prospective local operators would be assessed based on their qualifications, business experience, market readiness, and alignment with TCB Drones brand standards.

MARKET LICENSING PROGRAM UNDER DEVELOPMENT

TCB Drones is also working on a proposed Market Licensing Program that could enable qualified entrepreneurs to run independently owned businesses using approved TCB Drones branding and intellectual property.

Final program details—including territory requirements, financial obligations, and operator duties—will be established before any additional markets are awarded.

The proposed structure is still in development and remains subject to final review.

CONNECTING DRONE SKILLS WITH BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

TCB Drones’ expansion strategy is not just about filling seats in drone classes. The planned initiatives are designed to link drone technology with entrepreneurship, professional relationships, workforce development, and commercial applications.

“The vision is bigger than opening additional locations,” Rivers said. “We want to create an ecosystem where people can learn, build relationships, develop businesses and identify opportunities in an industry that continues to grow.”

PROGRAM AND MARKET INTEREST

TCB Drones is preparing a dedicated application for those interested in the Next Level Drone Accelerator Program, upcoming networking events, potential market opportunities, and drone education resources.

Applications will be reviewed as programs and market opportunities become available. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or territory approval.

Can Technology Save Our Schools? | Drone Security Solutions

Why it matters: As drone technology becomes more accessible, the bottleneck is shifting from pilot skills to business acumen. TCB Drones’ move to pair certification with entrepreneurship support—and to test that model in Savannah before scaling—signals a maturing industry where commercial success, not just flight proficiency, is the new benchmark.
