BERLIN, GERMANY AND OREM , UT, UNITED STATES, September 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Techcyte, the creator of Fusion—the unified AI platform for anatomic and clinical pathology—announced today that Aignostics has entered the Techcyte Fusion® Partner Program. Through this collaboration, Aignostics’ PathoSearch tool has been incorporated into Techcyte Fusion AP, enabling pathologists to locate morphologically comparable cases directly from the slide viewer by using the image itself instead of a written query.
PathoSearch leverages embeddings derived from Atlas 2, Aignostics’ pathology foundation model co-developed with Mayo Clinic, to compare a chosen region from an H&E whole slide image against a curated, multi-center reference collection of diagnosed cases that have been annotated and validated by pathologists. At launch, the tool covers more than 310,000 whole slide images drawn from over 35,000 cases, representing more than 300 diagnostic entities across 27 organs. For pathologists, this provides a direct means of exploring similar cases when encountering a rare or unfamiliar finding. For researchers, it offers a method to locate cases with analogous morphology across a reference set.
Within the Fusion AP slide viewer, users can select an area of interest on a given image; Fusion AP then captures and transmits that image to PathoSearch—no export or upload is required. Results are displayed in Aignostics’ platform, presenting similar cases along with associated information. PathoSearch currently supports thoracic, digestive, soft tissue and bone, female genital, and urinary and male genital cancers, with plans to expand to additional malignancies over time.
“When a pathologist sees something that doesn't fit, the useful question is 'what else looks like this?' PathoSearch lets them ask it with the image,” said Dr. Tiffany Chen, CMO of Techcyte. “Bringing this into Fusion AP means the reference material is there at the moment it's needed, letting the pathologist focus on the judgment.”
"This integration is an exciting step in our collaboration, because it seamlessly connects the diagnostic workflow with the image based search engine," said Dr. Rosemarie Krupar, VP of Pathology at Aignostics. "PathoSearch is built on real, diagnosed cases, annotated and validated by pathologists and aligned to the WHO Classification of Tumours. Fusion AP brings that reference material to pathologists right in the viewer they already work in."
PathoSearch is currently in early access; users of Fusion AP can request access by reaching out to their Techcyte contact.
Techcyte and Aignostics will showcase the integration at the 38th European Congress of Pathology, held from September 12–16 in Stockholm. Attendees at ECP are invited to see the combined workflow live at booth 539 in Hall B and learn how PathoSearch connects with Fusion AP.
This initial integration represents the first stage of the companies’ collaboration. Techcyte and Aignostics intend to introduce further integrations and capabilities within Fusion AP in the months ahead.
PathoSearch and Techcyte Fusion AP are for Research Use Only in the United States and are not intended for diagnostic purposes.
