onsemi VP brings federal and global policy expertise to strengthen Arizona's semiconductor and technology sectors
The growth of Arizona’s semiconductor sector is extraordinary, and PEI is critical to keeping that energy going”— Catherine Côté, onsemiPHOENIX, AZ, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Partnership for Economic Innovation (PEI) — a collaborative group of business and community leaders focused on accelerating economic opportunities in Arizona — has named Catherine Côté, Vice President, Chief of Staff and Head of the Office of the CEO at onsemi, to its board of directors. Her direct experience shaping federal and international technology policy at one of Arizona’s top semiconductor firms provides PEI with immediate access to the expertise required to advance the state’s role in the global innovation economy.
Côté takes over for Steven Gray, who stepped down from the PEI board after guiding onsemi’s participation in the organization’s key initiatives. Her appointment continues onsemi’s ongoing collaboration with PEI during a critical phase for Arizona’s semiconductor industry. The CHIPS and Science Act has funneled billions of dollars into the state’s semiconductor manufacturing sector, and PEI’s efforts to align workforce development, policy advocacy, and infrastructure with industry needs make Côté’s background a fitting and timely addition to the board.
Côté’s experience directly supports PEI’s 2026 goals for the semiconductor and technology sector, which include pushing for the federal Advanced Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit, creating K-12 STEM talent pipelines for semiconductor employers, and backing the regulatory and infrastructure policies that bolster Arizona’s expanding role in domestic technology manufacturing.
“Arizona is at the center of a remarkable period of semiconductor growth, and PEI plays an important role in sustaining that momentum. By strengthening the talent pipeline, advancing policy priorities that support innovation and competitiveness, and fostering collaboration across industry, academia and government, PEI helps create the conditions for companies like onsemi to invest, grow and thrive in Arizona,” said Catherine Côté, Vice President, Chief of Staff and Head of the Office of the CEO, onsemi. “I look forward to helping PEI accelerate Arizona’s position as a world-class innovation hub, and to bring onsemi’s perspective to the work that shapes our state’s economic future.”
At onsemi, Côté oversees enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, supports CEO execution, and manages the company’s global government and external affairs strategy. She brings broad expertise in sales, marketing, and executive operations throughout the semiconductor industry, and has guided organizations through complex changes, including major acquisitions and global integrations. Côté holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from McGill University and has completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School and Santa Clara University.
“Catherine brings exactly the kind of expertise and global perspective that strengthens PEI’s ability to advance Arizona’s innovation economy,” said John Graham, Board Chair of the Partnership for Economic Innovation and Chairman and CEO of Sunbelt Holdings. “onsemi plays a vital role in Arizona’s semiconductor ecosystem, and Catherine’s deep experience will help us shape the policies and partnerships that position Arizona as a global leader in semiconductor technology. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
